Thousands of people in the Treasure Valley received their Thanksgiving a day early.
Wednesday the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries held its great Thanksgiving banquet.

Volunteers served about 500 hot meals at Cathedral of the Rockies and handed out 500 turkeys.

Boise Rescue Mission CEO Bill Roscoe said he looks forward to this event every year.

"My favorite part about being here today is getting to see the folks come through the door and have a great Thanksgiving meal and get some encouragement. A little spark of hope and then go home with a turkey to serve in their own house," said Roscoe

Albertson sponsored the event and donated a check for $10,000. The Boise State Bronco football team also gave a helping hand
