A fierce food competition determined who is the best chef among the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries.

Harry Sarrell was named the winner of the third annual "Top Rescue Chef" event at the Boise Rescue Mission.

The competition was between chefs from the organization's Ada and Canyon County ministries.

Sarrell, from the Ada County Ministry, won the most votes for his beef Wellington dish.

"We do this because we want to have people come to the rescue mission and meet our staff, meet our guests, and meet people in our programs," said Bill Roscoe, Boise Rescue Mission CEO. "And we want to say thank you to all of our donors who make all of this work possible. So, all of the people here today that are enjoying the meal, are here as guests of the mission."

Funds raised during the event will benefit the Boise Rescue Mission in the fight against hunger and homelessness in the Treasure Valley.
