For ten-year-old Bryce Wood his love for words and their meanings came at a very young age. Something his grandmother knew would pay off later in live.  Carole Brenton lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya but that didn't stop her from yelling, laughing and crying during the Idaho Regional Spelling Bee event.

Carole's daughter told her that 6 On Your Side would be streaming the Regional Spelling Bee from Boise State University.  Despite some Internet issues early, Carole got to see Bryce make it to the final three.

"Everything worked the stars were all aligned and it didn't buffer," said Brenton via Skype, "I could see my daughter and my son-in-law, it was almost like being there."

When Bryce got his last word it was till hard to watch.

"When he came to that last word and he got the first letter wrong I kept thinking, that's not even an English word!"

Carole said she is extremely proud of her grandson, and Bryce promises to be back next year.
