The Thunderbirds and the Royal Canadian Snow Birds are in town for the Gowen Thunder Air Show this weekend.

The event is open to the public and general admission is free. Idaho National Guard officials say this is the first open house and airshow in more than 20 years.

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds and their Canadian counterpart, the Royal Canadian Snowbirds will perform precision aerial maneuvers both days.

Gowen Thunder events take place Saturday, October 14th, 2017 and Sunday, October, 15th, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Officials say the event is estimated to draw tens of thousands of people from the area.

They say as a general rule, if you can't bring it on a flight, don't bring it to the airshow.
