Today November 3 2016 students at Gateways Elementary gathered, sorted, folded and boxed clothes to send away to victims of Hurricane Matthew.  Now they just need a way to send them.

The action was inspired when students viewed a news program about the hurricane and a man exclaimed, "I got out with my family and the clothes on my back!" When students learned that expression meant that they had lost everything, they decided to take action.

Since then, students collected some 700 lbs of clothing to be distributed.

The clothes, now sorted and boxed are ready for shipping, but the school is asking for help to offset shipping costs.

The school may be contacted at the Nampa School District telephone number, (208) 468-4600.
