A former Boise jet boat manufacturer accused of not delivering custom-built boats and trailers to clients who paid thousands of dollars in advance has pleaded not guilty to felony fraud charges in federal court.

The Idaho Statesman reports Christopher Bohnenkamp on Monday denied 21 counts of wire fraud totaling about $1.7 million and six counts of bank fraud totaling more than $1 million.

Authorities say the charges stem from Bohnenkamp's Whitewater Customs and Treasure Valley Marine. Bohnenkamp closed the shop in Boise before moving to Youngstown, N.Y., last year.

The trial in federal court is scheduled to start Dec. 19.
