Flu season is in full effect.

So far there have been 14 cases reported in the Boise area and a dozen in Nampa.

Dr. Michael Wheaten with Saint Alphonsus said the good news is vaccines are still available.
This year's vaccine covers four different types of strain whereas in the previous years only covered three strains.

"The current circulating strain looks like it might be a part of this years vaccine which is great news," Wheaten said. "Most of the time our vaccines work from 60-90 percent depending on that match. So I am hoping that this year we get to the 75 percent or the 90 percent."

The flu season ends tends to end in April.
