Boise District Bureau of Land Management fire resources say the Josie Fire, located approximately 18 miles south of Silver City, Idaho was human-caused.

The fire was reported on the early evening of September 29th 2016.

As of Saturday afternoon, the fire was approximately 1300 acres, burning in grass and sage, encompassing both private and state land. The specific cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Breezy variable winds over the fire last have made achieving containment increasingly more difficult. Fire resources currently working to contain the blaze are optimistic that more progress towards containment will be made today; added by approaching cooler temperatures.

The fire is requiring resources from 60 personnel.
