Police say a Boise police officer is receiving medical care after being bitten in the knee by a dog in Boise. The dog involved in the incident was shot three times and is also receiving care.
It all started around 8:44 p.m., when officers responded to a call about a fight in the front yard of a Boise home.
Officers responded to the 2200 block of S. Pond St.
There, police say, they attempted to break up a fight between two men, when an officer was bitten by a large dog belonging to one of those men. The bite to the knee cause a serious injury, and officers shot the dog.
Police say the dog also bit one of the men involved in the fight.
An investigation is underway, and charges are pending.
