An attorney for the Dietrich School District has asked that court documents relating to a sexual misconduct case be sealed.

The Times-News reports attorneys for the District cited a Tuesday article in the newspaper that detailed the school's investigation into allegations that a black football player was sexually assaulted as evidence as to why the court documents should be sealed.

The alleged victim of the assault has sued the district for $10 million claiming school administrators were aware of harassment and discrimination the player had faced. The Times-News received information about the school's investigation after the victim's attorneys filed the documents as part of the lawsuit.

The district argues that the case needs to be sealed because of media attention.
