The fire was ignited near mile marker 52 on Idaho State Highway 55 near Avimor subdivision.
The BLM, eagle, Boise, Star, Meridian, and Middleton fire units were dispatched to the area along with helicopters and fixed-wing planes, with an additional hotshot crew in route from Vale, Oregon.
The fire is now over 500 acres and currently 10% contained.
The fire is currently burning NE away from the homes located in Avimor.
No houses in the area were burned but the residents in the Avimor subdivision are asked to remain on high alert tonight.
The fire is human caused; however, the specific cause is still under investigation.
