Shoppers who missed out on black Friday had another opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents Saturday, keeping their money right here in the Treasure Valley.

"Small Business Saturday" kicked off this morning with specials for people who showed their support for local entrepreneurs.

Musicians braved the cold outside the record exchange to help welcome customers inside.
Those who had a "Downtown Boise Passport" could get stamps along the way, and have their name entered into a drawing for prizes.

Record exchange employees say an increased number of shoppers want to see their dollars stay local.

"Small Business Saturday is a great kick off for us. It's a good way to get the shop local message across to our customers and just a really good start to the holiday season. This weekend is always telling for what kind of season we can expect, and so far so good," explained Chad Dryden, marketing and promotions director for the Record Exchange.

The Record Exchange has a brand new stage inside, where concerts are held on a regular basis.
