Boise Public Library customers now can drive up, phone in, and have on-hold materials delivered to them at their vehicle.

The Boise Public Library has begun a new curbside hold pick-up system, which makes getting your library materials -- and getting in and out of the parking lot -- faster and easier, library officials say.

The service is available at two locations: the main library in downtown Boise, and the library at Cole and Ustick Roads.

Officials say using the new system is easy: Simply pull into the hold pick-up area (which is clearly marked and striped off in bright green paint), call the branch-specific number, and your materials will be delivered to you by library staff.

For the main library, call 208-954-6777. The number for the Cole and Ustick service is 208-972-8300.

Customers are asked to have their library card or photo ID ready when they use the service.

“We know parking can sometimes be difficult, especially at the main library,” said Circulation Supervisor Lorna Thorne, who’s overseeing the program. “The fact that we see so much use is a good problem to have, but we know it can be frustrating. We’re hoping this program will help to alleviate that.”
