Boise Police officers and DEA agents are looking for a man wanted for aggravated assault and drug trafficking who, they say, rammed a undercover police car last week.

Javier Tapia, 25, of Boise, is wanted on a federal indictment for drug trafficking --stemming from a Boise Police/DEA investigation.

As officers were trying to arrest Tapia Wednesday (April 12th) near the area of Fairview Avenue and Fry Street in Boise, he reportedly rammed his vehicle into an undercover police car and fled the area.

The suspect’s vehicle was later found abandoned.

Tapia is believed to be possibly armed and dangerous, according to a BPD news release.  He is described as 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.  He has black hair, brown eyes, and may have facial hair.
Officers are asking anyone who has any information about Tapia’s whereabouts to contact non-emergency dispatch at 377-6790 or Crime Stoppers.
