Fifteen Boise kids got a new bike thanks to the Boise Police Department and their Police Activities League. It was all a big surprise for the kids who were identified by some of the police department's partners as in need. All the bikes are brand new and in total cost of over $4,000. Along with a new bike, the children also got free helmets and rode around an obstacle course and were given safety tips.

"Our police officers are volunteering their time and they're very passionate about reaching out to the youth in our community and giving them access to things they may not have access to," said Officer Jessica Perkins with the Boise Police Department.

The Boise Police Activities League also helps needy kids explore the outdoors through paddle boarding and mentors them in boxing and even golf.
