Boise Police officers are investigating multiple reports of vandalism near State Street in downtown Boise.

Officers began receiving reports around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday night about windows being damaged by what appears to be a BB or pellet gun.

Witnesses say an unknown number of suspects were randomly shooting at windows from a vehicle seen in the area of First and State Streets. The vehicle is described as a blue or dark green Ford Explorer or Chevrolet SUV with no rear license plate.

More calls came into dispatch from the 5000 block of State Street later that night, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

Investigators say at least ten businesses and some twenty windows were damaged. And there could be more.

Police searched the area, but could not find the vehicle or the suspects.

Anyone who believes their property has been vandalized is urged to file a police report by calling Ada County dispatch at 208-377-6790.  If anyone has any information about the person or persons responsible for shooting the windows, they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers: at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone in the area who may have surveillance video taken Wednesday night near State Street.
