A Boise man was booked into the Ada County Jail early Monday morning after police say he led them on a high-speed pursuit.
According to Idaho State Police spokesman Tim Marsano, the chase began about 11 p.m. Sunday when an ISP trooper clocked Isaiah Avila, 25, speeding 86 miles an hour eastbound on Interstate 84 east of the Garrity Blvd. exit.
The trooper activated his cruiser’s lights and siren, but Avila refused to pull over, Marsano said.
Avila got off the freeway at the Ten Mile Road interchange, then sped north on Ten Mile Road.
Another ISP trooper joined the pursuit, as did units from both the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the Meridian Police Department.
Officers were able to eventually stop Avila. He was arrested without incident, Marsano stated.
Avila currently faces felony charges of eluding officers and driving under the influence. Marsano said Avila’s blood alcohol content level was not immediately available.
