A judge has ruled that a Boise man accused of first degree murder will not be granted bond during his first court appearance in Ada County.

Joshua James Alberts was arrested by Boise Police officers on Saturday, February 20th just after 11:45 a.m at the Whispering Pines complex near Cole and Ustick Road.

According to Ada County deputy prosecutor Jeff White, Joshua sent a text to the victim to “pick up his kids.”

When the victim arrived at the apartment complex and rolled down his window, Joshua allegedly walked up and shot the victim multiple times in the head and torso.  When police arrived on scene, Joshua was seen holding a gun and admitted responsibility according to White.

The victim has not been identified by the Ada County Coroner’s Office at this time, however, the judge did name the victim as Joshua Warren.

Alberts is scheduled to appear in court on March 7th at 8:30 a.m.
