Boise man faces six felony charges after a hit and run that led to a high-speed chase on Friday.

James Michael Cox, 39, Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail on six felony charges -- 2 counts of leaving the scene of an accident , 2 counts of eluding police, grand theft, and burglary.

On Friday, while traveling southbound on Roosevelt, the suspect vehicle hit a tan Cadillac passenger car then hit a bicyclist on the sidewalk. The two passengers in the Cadillac had minor injuries, and at last check, the bicyclist was in stable condition at the hospital.

According to Boise police, witnesses saw the suspect run from the scene and into a nearby garage where he stole a motorcycle.  The owner of the motorcycle attempted to stop the suspect but was unsuccessful. Officers gave verbal commands to the suspect to stop but he failed to comply and led police on a traffic pursuit out of Ada County.

Cox drove the motorcycle down a dead end street in Homedale where he attempted to flee on foot from officers.  Officers were able to apprehend Cox and take him into custody without incident.

Cox was taken to the hospital before he was booked into the Ada County Jail on six felony charges on Saturday.
