An 11-year-old boy from Florida is trekking through Idaho in the name of type 1 diabetes awareness, met up with two supporters on the Boise Greenbelt Monday, Oct. 9.

Noah Barnes and his family are completing a cross-country diabetes awareness march, walking from Key West, Florida to Blaine, Washington.

Monday afternoon, the Barnes family met Nate Ogden and his wife, Heather, who completed their own 1,200-mile bicycling trip this summer, to raise money and awareness for wheelchairs to be delivered in developing countries.

"That blows me away," said Nate Ogden. "...the sacrifice that this family has put in, to give up everything for one purpose."

"Two people have asked us what we're doing and, like, 15 have said hi," said Noah Barnes.

The Barnes Family walk up to 20 miles a day.

They hope to make it to the Oregon border in one week.
