With toys and gifts donated by Ada County employees, the Ada County Commissioners and paramedics brought joy to a number of children Monday who are spending their holidays at St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise.

Each year, Ada County organizes an all-employee toy drive to benefit the hospitalized children. Hundreds of toys were collected from the Ada County Courthouse, the Ada County Paramedics Headquarters, the Public Safety Building, and other locations.

"Seeing a child suffering from an illness or injury is always heartbreaking -- but being hospitalized during what is supposed to be the most magical time of year is something no one wants for a child," Ada County Paramedics Public Information Officer Hadley Mayes said.
