The Ada County Highway District is out in full force sanding and salting main roads throughout Ada County to ensure that overnight temperatures don’t turn the slush into ice.

In addition, ACHD uses magnesium chloride which they say will make ice less resistant to sticking on the road.

A total of 55 crews with 37 plows will be working non-stop throughout the holiday weekend.

Officials want anyone that is traveling to use extra caution especially heading east toward the Magic Valley.
