More than 100 convicted sex offenders in the state of Idaho are challenging sex offender registry laws in the gem state. Twin falls lawyer, Greg Fuller filed a 73-page lawsuit against more than 35 defendants including Idaho attorney general Lawrence Wasden on behalf of 104 unnamed convicted sex offenders.

The plaintiffs claim the laws violate their constitutional rights including due process and equal protection.

"Many of these new fangled protections were not thought of decades ago when people early on were sentenced sometimes as youth, sometimes decades ago for crimes related to sex. What has happened is, society has changed the rules and now makes people for certain kinds of crimes that were misdemeanors or certain kinds of crimes that were sex offenses but not required for registration, now they must register," said David Leroy, Boise trial attorney.

The suit challenges the constitutionality of the Idaho Sexual Offender Registration and Community Right-to-Know Act.
