A commercial truck driver was cited by Oregon State Police Saturday after a trailer with a heavy load struck a bridge abutment and went down an embankment along Interstate 84 about 35 mile east of Baker City. The trailer came to rest in the Burnt River and its load, a windmill base, came to rest on the east side river bank.

Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into the cause of a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred Friday morning when a commercial motor vehicle traveled off Interstate 84 westbound near North Powder onto the median and overturned.
Construction on the Ustick Road and Ten Mile Road intersection is now complete and the new traffic signal was put into operation this afternoon. The new signal replaces a four-way stop and will increase safety and reduce delays for the 17,000 motorists that currently use the intersection each day.
