Here comes a Christmas treasure trove of movies in theaters, including some of the best of the year.
(This is 40 – Universal – Rated R)
Written and directed by Judd Apatow, This is 40 is a sequel of sorts to Knocked Up. It expands upon the story of Pete and Debbie as we see first-hand how they are dealing with their current state of life. It stars Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Megan Fox, John Lithgow, Melissa McCarthy, and Albert Brooks. It’s rated R.
(Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away – Paramount – Rated PG)
Executive produced by Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron, the 3D film Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away features artistic and acrobatic performances from some of the most elaborate Cirque du Soleil productions. It’s rated PG.
(Jack Reacher – Paramount – Rated PG-13)
Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins and Robert Duvall star in PG-13 rated Jack Reacher. A suspect in a murder case offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins a chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence, a secret to keep and a target on Reacher’s back.

(Django Unchained - The Weinstein Company - Rated R)
Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jonah Hill.
Set in the South before the Civil War, Django, is a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz. Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.
(Les Miserables – Universal – Rated PG-13)
Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen star in PG-13 rated Les Misérables, the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved stage musical. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, it tells the story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption
(Parental Guidance – 20th Century Fox – Rated PG)
PG rated Parental Guidance stars Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei. Old school grandfather Artie, who is accustomed to calling the shots, meets his match when he and his eager-to-please wife Diane agree to babysit their three grandkids when their type-A helicopter parents go away for work.

(Silver Linings Playbook – The Weinstein Company – Rated R)
In Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper plays a man who just spent 4 years in a mental institution for assaulting a rival. Jennifer Lawrence plays a recent widow with a bad reputation who lures him into entering a dance contest with her. Robert DeNiro, Chris Tucker and Julia Stiles also star.
