Alice fried the fish as Resident Evil: Retribution came in first at the box office with 21.1 million dollars while Disney’s 3-D re-release of Finding Nemo was second with 17.5 million. Last week’s number one movie, The Possession fell to third.

Hats off to Pixar with their 3-D conversion of Finding Nemo. It made a great movie even better. I couldn’t believe it was the same movie! The 3-D made this terrific film even more immersive and involving. This is a 3-D conversion that isn’t just a money grab. 5 Stars Out of 5

Last Ounce of Courage is a little amateurish, contains an overt religious message, and is a little heavy handed at times, but the message that this film conveys is one that America needs to hear. It packs a powerful punch and shows us how our rights are being lost a little at a time. It is thought provoking and incredibly moving. Go see it. 4 Stars Out of 5

Richard Gere is at the top of his game in Arbitrage. He plays a seriously flawed character and is always interesting. The rest of the cast is also quite good, but make no mistake, this is Gere’s film. He commands every minute of this involving film. 4 Stars Out of 5

The Queen of Versailles is a documentary about a semi dysfunctional rich family in financial trouble. Trouble is, they aren’t all that interesting or likeable. Their kids are spoiled and they cant seen to train their dogs not to poop in a multimillion dollar mansion. It’s everywhere…and it’s disgusting. She’s not the Queen of Versailles, she’s the Queen of poop pie. 2 ½ Stars Out of 5

It’s the fifth movie in the series and Resident Evil: Retribution shows it. This time, it’s much more like the video game that spawned it. It’s a nearly plotless assemblage of chases and gunfights with an almost but not quite naked Milla Jovovich and a few male models thrown in. There’s nothing new here…just gunshots, explosions and precious little else. It got tedious.
The series has been one of the few video game adaptations that has been worth watching. But this one is more like watching someone else play a videogame. I’ve got better things to do. 2 Stars Out of 5
