Extreme Makeover Home: Foreclosed

A Sandpoint, Idaho home featured on the hit ABC show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is now in foreclosure.

When Eric Hebert and his twin niece and nephew first walked through the doors of their beautiful home, never did he imagine he'd be forced to move out just three-and-a-half years later.

Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover crew built Hebert's 36-hundred-square-foot dream home after Eric took in his niece and nephew when their mom died. Soon after, Hebert used the home as collateral for a loan to pay off his old mortgage. A few months later, a construction company he worked for went out of business. Hebert then used some of the loan to invest in his own company. The rest of the money went back into maintaining the home.

Hebert said the mortgage and bills add up to about $3,000 a month. Hebert owes the bank almost $400,000 dollars. Without a steady job, he hasn't been able to pay his mortgage for six months. "The money was going out faster than it was coming in," Hebert said.

The home has been for sale for almost a year without any luck. He says he feels like he let his small town down. "The sad point is it's just a great, close-knit community that, they really came together on this whole project in hopes of furthering my future and the kids' future, and when all that crumbles, you feel like a failure," he said.

Hebert says 12-year-olds Keely and Kyler, now in the sixth grade, have been keeping him strong through this financial storm. As of February 18th, the family has 118 days before they have to be moved out.
