The American flag hung half staff Friday in memory of those killed and injured in the Fort Hood Massacre.
Soldiers at Gowen Field paid their respects with a moment of silence for their brothers and sisters in the military and support for their families.
"We want to think about those families because it's breaking my heart and I know it is for you guys too," says US Army Colonel Robert Lytle.
Fort Hood is home to more than 60,000 soldiers and families.
Idaho soldiers know this tragedy will leave a lasting imprint in the hearts of many across the nation.
"This is going to have ramifications across the nation and touching families in every state," Colonel Lytle says.
