Two west Boise schools - Valleyview Elementary and Capital High School - were both placed on lockdown Wednesday morning as Boise Police officers investigated a report of a person possibly carrying a gun.
Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower told Today's Channel 6 News, "About 11 this morning, a driver reported seeing a bicyclist on Milwaukee Street carrying what appeared to be a shotgun."
Officers immediately responded to the area and, as a precaution, the schools were placed on lockdown.
However, neither the bicyclist nor whatever the bicyclist was carrying was ever located.
The lockdowns were lifted about 11:20 a.m.
