Well, we have officially made it to March! This weekend is the perfect glimpse into the spring season if there ever was one- from the Ballet Idaho Spring Fashion Show, to Treefort Music Fest being right around the corner, and the Les Bois Film Festival- we can practically smell the spring flowers starting to bloom. Whether you’re looking for something the whole crew can do together this weekend or are wanting to let your inner-night-owl run wild downtown, there is an event in the Treasure Valley that is perfect for you!

For Everyone:

Calling all bookworms! This Friday night from 6-8 PM, Storyfort’s Bookclub will be having their second meeting in the lobby of the Owyhee. Grab your Treefort wristband before prices go up!)

Ballet Idaho Spring Fashion Show

Ballet Idaho events are one of our FAVORITE things about the winter/springtime in Boise. While we are eagerly anticipating their Peter Pan show in April, we’re excited to get a sneak peak of it this Thursday at the Ballet Idaho Spring Fashion Show! On March 2nd From 7-10 PM, Ballet Idaho company members will model handpicked spring fashions and perform an exclusive Peter Pan inspired dance on the runway! Tickets for this event start at $40, you can reserve yours here.

Dirty Dancing at The Morrison Center

The classic story you know and love will be performed live this weekend at the Morrison Center! “Heart-pounding music, passionate romance, and sensational dancing” will be used to tell the story of Baby and Johnny this Saturday and Sunday. Get your tickets here!

Les Bois Film Festival

Don’t miss out on the second annual Les Bois Film Festival this Saturday, March 4th! The Land Trust of the Treasure Valley has partnered up with Wild Lens to bring you this incredible event. This year’s festival will be held at the Egyptian Theatre and will feature several different locally made films. There are two sessions, and both are expected to sell out, get your ticket before that happens! (Also, a little birdy told us that they’ll have traditional movie concessions, wine, beer from Woodland Empire, and kombucha from Idaho Kombucha- yum!)

For the Night Owl:

Murder Mystery Theatre

Saturday night make sure you work Playhouse Boise’s show, Murder Me Always, into your plans! This show is a hysterical and interactive whodunit! Enjoy a delicious four-course meal, while assisting the Playhouse Boise cast in solving a murder. (Be prepared to laugh, a lot!) Tickets range from $24-$48 and you can reserve yours here!

Knitting Factory Presents: Jake Shimabukuro at the Egyptian Theatre

Sunday night, allow yourself to get swept away by the gorgeous sound of Jake Shimabukuro and his ukulele. Well known for his ability to take the humble four-stringed instrument to remarkable heights and depths, Jake Shimabukuro tours around 140 places a year, and this year Boise is one of them! This can’t-miss show will be held at the Egyptian Theatre Sunday night. Tickets cost $25, and you can get yours here!
