New classes help mitigate injuries for senoirs at Lake Hazel Library
Southwest Boise residents are invited to join the new Fit and Fall Proof™ classes being offered at the Lake Hazel Library, 10489 W. Lake Hazel Road. The classes meet at 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday.
Fit and Fall Proof™ classes are a method of preventing debilitating falls that can rob seniors of the ability to live independently. The classes are free and participants can join the class at any session.
As part of the Fit and Fall Proof™ classes, seniors practice simple exercises that increase strength, balance and endurance, as well as skills that can help prevent the injuries caused by accidental falls and tripping sometimes associated with age.
The Fit and Fall Proof™ classes are free! For more information contact Mike Rice at (208)-327-8591. A complete schedule of Fit and Fall Proof™ classes can be found on the CDHD website (http://cdhd.idaho.gov/CHEC/Fit%20and%20Fall/fallproof.htm).
