World Center for Birds of Prey to begin winter hours
The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey will begin a reduced winter schedule on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, but closed Mondays. Guided tours of the Archives of Falconry will be offered at 2 p.m. when the interpretive center is open. They will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Live bird presentations will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Summer hours resume Friday, March 1.
"The interpretive center allows adults and kids to enjoy interactive displays and face-to-face encounters with live raptors," said Susan Whaley with the center. "The Archives of Falconry features an authentic Arab hunting tent, artifacts, books, art and sculpture."
