Tara Martin, VJ and Anchor
Tara Martin joins “Today’s 6 & FOX 9” as a video journalist and anchor. Tara is a broadcast veteran with more than a dozen years in the TV news industry. She has worked as an anchor, reporter and producer in several television markets including Vancouver, Virginia, Oregon, South Dakota, Florida, Missouri,and Montana.
Tara also previously reported for CNN and was executive producer of “INTUNE” – a thirty-minute talk show.
Tara was born in Canada, eh?, and found herself in the national spotlight when she was crowned Miss World Canada 1991.
She is an avid outdoorswoman and loves to fish, hunt, hike and go camping with her family. Tara is the proud mother of four children – Montana, Dior, Wyatt and Dakota. She also has several four-legged family members including Gertie the cow dog, a horse named Buck and Pistol her fluffy American Eskimo puppy.
When Tara’s not working or being a mom, she enjoys watching rodeos. There is one cowboy in particular she roots for – her husband, Brandon Martin, who is a professional bareback rider in the PRCA.
Tara says she is thrilled to now be living and working in Idaho. “I cannot wait to experience all the Gem State has to offer,” she said. “I look forward to making Boise my permanent home.”
