Crowd at Qwest Arena Wait on Vice President

Qwest Arena Thursday morning was packed with Special Olympic fans. A cheering crowd all wanted to see the man headed to fill some empty seats. But winter weather caused a Vice Presidential delay and the Boise School District students here for the event would miss out.

"They'll be disappointed of course not to see the Vice President and others but it's still been a great day" says East Junior High Principal Bonita Hammer.

A great day because they did see some other greats like Olympic skaters Scott Hamilton and Michelle Kwan.

"This whole experience is really cool just because I like seeing all of the people here I thought it was really awesome" said Stephanie Foote.

But the best part for some would come later as the man of the hour walked in almost barely being noticed.

"I think this really is amazing and really cool to have Biden here" says Ellie Shaw.

And its wasn't long before the Vice President took the ice to hand out medals to winning athletes and taking time to say a few words.

Vice President Biden only spent a few moments at Qwest Arena but people we spoke to say it was well worth the wait.
