
At around 6:50 am Tuesday morning, Idaho State Police with the assistance of Weiser Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff's office responded to a semi versus passenger car injury crash on US Highway 95 just south of Weiser.
27 year-old Brian Stayner of Payette, was turning north onto Highway 95 from Sunnyside Road. 21 year-old Ryan Smith of Weiser, was traveling southbound on Highway 95 when his Silver Ford Taurus collided with the first of two trailers that Stayner was hauling.
Stayner was not injured. Smith was transported by ambulance to Weiser Memorial Hospital where he was then transported by Saint Alphonsus Life flight to St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Smith was not wearing his seatbelt and remains in critical condition.
The investigation on the crash is ongoing by Senior Trooper Grothaus with the assistance of Idaho State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit, Idaho State Police Commercial Vehicle Safety Officer, Washington County Sheriff's office and Weiser Police Department.
