BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Three current employees at the Idaho State Tax Commission have added their voices to a lawsuit claiming the state agency has given politically connected taxpayers inappropriate settlements. The suit was started by two Democrats who sued tax commissioners in June based on a 2008 whistleblower claim. An investigation into the claim concluded no laws were broken.
BURLEY, Idaho (AP) - Cassia County School District officials say they're reviewing hiring policies and looking at creating a social-networking policy after two teachers were charged with sex crimes against students. A former Burley High School teacher was sentenced last week to up to 12 years in prison for a sexual relationship he had with a student at the school. The day before his sentencing, a Burley Junior High teacher was charged in a separate sex abuse case.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - People have been turning up at Yellowstone National Park in unprecedented numbers. More than 2.5 million people visited the world's first national park over the June, July and August summer season. That's up by more than 200,000 compared to the summer of 2009. And last year was a record.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is moving 1 of its showcase events from Idaho to Oklahoma City. The PRCA says the 2011 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo will be held at the State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City beginning on March 31. Pocatello had hosted the event since 1987.
