GRANGEVILLE, Idaho (AP) -- Two inmates who ran from the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood have pleaded guilty to escape, burglary and driving while intoxicated charges.
The inmates, Richard Daniel Nieves and Ben Westley Perez, entered pleas in 2nd District Court earlier this week.
Nieves and Perez climbed over a security fence during their June escape and were taken into custody after an accident involving stolen four-wheelers.
Nieves is serving up to seven years for injury to a child in Blaine County and Perez was serving up to 10 years for burglary and other charges in Minidoka County.
The men were taking part in the retained jurisdiction program, and could have been released as soon as October.
Judge John Bradbury says the escape will add five years onto their original sentences.
