WORLEY, Idaho (AP) -- The Coeur d'Alene Casino is donating 300 turkeys to the Coeur d'Alene Food Bank in time for Thanksgiving. The big bird donation takes place on Monday afternoon. The Coeur d'Alene Tribe-owned casino's management says staff in Worley learned the food bank didn't have enough turkeys to meet its needs this holiday season, as the recession and rising unemployment boosts demand for its supplies. Chief Executive Officer Dave LaSarte-Meeks says, "We all recognize the importance of putting food on the tables of those in need." He says casino employees are moving "as fast as possible" to relieve the crisis.
