More than one-hundred pounds of pot are off the street tonight, after an investigation that led police from a Boise storage shed to a Caldwell home.
It was a long investigation that brought down 4 suspected drug dealers. The drugs detectives found on these men and at a Caldwell home had a street value of about $300-thousand dollars.
4 men showed up to court today after being arrested by undercover detectives.
First, 33-year old Brook Vogt from Meridian took the stand.
Prosecutors say Vogt has a long criminal history and was still on probation when the bust went down.
"The defendant, again speaking with the undercover officer, sold 5 pounds of marijuana for $15-thousand dollars," said the Ada County Prosecutor.
Treasure Valley officers investigated this case for six months.
Finally, on Thursday afternoon that's when they made their move.
"We had purchase marijuana previously utilizing an undercover officer and yesterday we made another purchase approximately 5 pounds of marijuana and that's when we took the 4 individuals to custody," said Lt. Rajeev Sahni from the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
Police arrested the 3 men on scene. Michael Tate was later arrested in an apartment in Star.
Through the investigation detectives went to a Caldwell home and found more than 100-pounds of marijuana and the drugs were packaged and ready for sale. But no one was home at the time.
"Any time you get 120 pounds of marijuana it's pretty significant large scale dealer," said Lt. Sahni.
Detectives say they are looking at rural areas to find the source of the drugs.
"It's a big bust but we believe there are more out there," said Lt. Sahni.
The judge gave 3 men at $250-thousand dollar bond but he gave 26-year old Jeremy Riggi a $300-thousand dollar bond for what the judge calls the source of the drugs.
