A Boise man faces a long list of charges after police say he led them on a chase in a stolen car.

Just before 8:30 Monday night, an officer spotted an Acura Legend with fake license plates in Garden City. But when officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver sped away, police said.

Officers chased the car into Boise, where police say the driver tried to ram a patrol car as he tried to pass. The fleeing car then crashed into a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Fairview and Cole and the driver took off on foot.

After a short foot pursuit, police arrested Joseph Shane Ouellette, 28. Ouellette will likely make his first court appearance Tuesday on charges of Aggravated Battery on a law enforcement officer, Eluding Police, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Resisting/Obstructing, and Driving without Privileges.

More charges connected to the stolen vehicle are expected.
