The City of Meridian has announced a partnership to create a searchable database of local Meridian businesses with BizReach.com.  The registry will exist as a searchable web tool designed to provide business contact information as well as industry categories to the public in one location at www.MeridianCity.org.

City officials say participation in the registry is voluntary and provides a variety of free and discounted services to help businesses market themselves online to residents throughout the Treasure Valley.  The registry will provide information about a business on the City of Meridian website.  BizReach.com, a Meridian business, will then create a searchable profile of participating businesses accessible from MeridianCity.org, which spokesmen say is one of the most visited local websites in Idaho. 

This partnership was developed as a way to begin creating one location for all Meridian businesses to be accessed.  “Whether businesses have a website or not, this registry will provide a web presence for all businesses that are interested in having the public access information about their company.  If looking for a restaurant, salon, or florist in Meridian, this registry will provide that opportunity for our citizens or those visiting our community,” said Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd.

Working with BizReach.com, a company that provides business tools designed to promote buying and shopping local, the City of Meridian is able to provide this service free of charge to both businesses and site visitors.

“In a growing and changing economy, it is important that as a City we support our local businesses and that our citizens do their business locally whenever possible.  This business registry will serve as a tool in the e-commerce world allowing businesses to succeed while marketing to new and existing customer bases,” de Weerd added.
