Early Voting Numbers Lower Than Expected

Even though voter turn out is expected to be light in this years municipal elections, those manning the polling locations say they're ready. "One never knows what's going to happen but we think we're prepared for every contingency," Boise City Chief Deputy City Clerk John Eichmann said.

In Boise some 400 people will be working the voting locations, but if turn out is anything like the early voting numbers things could be very slow for most of them.

So far just over 1700 people punched absentee ballots or visited early voting locations.  "We'd estimated all combined 2000 to 2500 early votes based on past history," Eichmann said.

Polls are open from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. across the Valley tomorrow. People not registered to vote can still do so at their polling locations. You need to have two forms of I.D. with your address.
