A police pursuit tied up traffic along Interstate 84 this evening.
What Idaho State Patrol is calling a high risk stop started shortly after 5 p.m. Friday evening, when troopers say a driver heading eastbound from Garrity Blvd. in Nampa refused to stop.
Witnesses tell police a man crashed into another car in Nampa and then took off.
After police spiked the driver's tires he finally pulled over. But police say he refused to get out and was tazed.
The pursuit ended just west of Meridian Road and at least two eastbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily shut down as a result.
Shortly after the traffic stop, an Idaho State Police cruiser was rear-ended, across the freeway, in the westbound lanes.
There is no word yet on injuries on either incident.
The driver, 53-year old James Masker is charged with eluding and resisting police and driving while intoxicated.
