Girl Scouts Move Due to Sex Offenders

S. Idaho Girl Scouts moving due to sex offenders

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- The Twin Falls headquarters for 620 Girls Scouts in south-central is moving due to what officials say are too many registered sex offenders in the neighborhood.

Shelli Rambo Robertson, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council, tells The Times-News that the location on Fourth Avenue is not a safe environment because there are more than 50 registered sex offenders living within one mile.

The office is in an industrial part of town next to a tattoo parlor. The group last month discontinued meetings at the headquarters and is moving to a new office near the College of Southern Idaho.

However, the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office reports there are 23 registered sex offenders living within one mile of the new location.
