MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - A 37-year-old Meridian middle school teacher has pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old student.

Ashley Beach entered the plea Tuesday to one count of lewd conduct with a child under 16. Two other counts of lewd conduct were dropped as part of a plea agreement.

Ada County prosecutors are recommending a 20-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole for seven years.

Sentencing is set for Dec. 22.

Beach taught at Meridian Middle School.

Police say she was caught in some bushes with a 13-year-old boy in September. Authorities say the sexual relationship had been going on for several months.
