Associated Press - October 13, 2009 8:14 AM ET

HAILEY, Idaho (AP) - A 44-year-old former bookkeeper for a central Idaho flooring company has been charged with felony grand theft and forgery after the business alleged she stole large sums of money over a 13-year period.

Court documents show Terri Lee Sanders, of Bellevue, worked for Espinoza Flooring in Ketchum from 1993 until she was fired in 2006 for allegedly signing checks from the business over to herself.

Sanders was arraigned on two counts of grand theft and two counts of forgery last month.

Her former employer, Beatrice Espinoza, reported to police that thousands, possibly several hundred thousands, of dollars had been stolen from her personal and business accounts.

The Times-News reports a preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday.
