The F.B.I. has confirmed a man they arrested in Mexico is Jorge Alberto Lopez-Orozco. Lopez-Orozco is charged with three counts of first degree murder. Those charges stem from the brutal killings of Rebecca Ramirez and two of her sons, seven years ago in Elmore County. Police say Lopez-Orozco shot the three people and then set them on fire inside a car that was later found near the Snake River. Investigators say he fled to Mexico after the Murders. Lopez-Orozco was eventually placed on the F.B.I.'s ten most wanted list. Earlier this week United States Marshalls in Mexico recived a tip that Lopez-Orozco was working at scrap metal yard in Mexico City.
"On Wednesday morning F.B.I. personnel, U.S. Marshal personnel and Mexican federal authorities flew to the location, set up servailance and arrested Mr. Orozco without incident," said F.B.I. agent John Morton.
Elmore County Sheriff Rick Layher was able to call Ramirez's family and give them the news they had been waiting to hear for seven long years.
"Even on the phone you could tell the relief that family had, finally that was their feeling, finally we're going to be able to start putting an end to this," said Layher.
The extradition process has begun for for Lopez-Orozco, but it is unkown how long it will take to get him back to Idaho.
