Emergency crews responded to what they thought was a serious car crash.
"It was a small compact car, I couldn't tell the color of it. It was right beside me and the next thing I know there was a bunch of dust and it was on its side," says Melissa Farris..
Caldwell Police say officials say the crash was a lie and the caller's name was fake.
Investigators say former paramedic 35-year-old Melissa Farris called dispatch and made the story up.
Police say Farris made the call across from the Canyon County Paramedic Building.
Crews never found the crash but Farris instead, trapped underneath the garage door.
She later died at a hospital from her injuries.
Police don't know why Farris made the call or why she tried to get into the building.
They are investigating why the safety mechanism on the door didn't work.
