68-year-old Robert Frank Estrada was found Monday between the 200 and 300 block of Bower Ave., just a few houses down from where he was house sitting.
"They found him over there on that side and I don't understand what he would be doing, he doesn't know this neighborhood," says family member Vera Suarez.
A trail of blood led to his body behind a neighbor's backyard, but Nyssa Police aren't saying what killed him.
Shocked family members are grieving over the terrible news.
"He asked me his name and another officer put me in a car and a detective asked me a lot of questions and then he told me it was him," says Suarez.
Robert was married with grown children and was visiting from Ontario.
"I couldn't believe it, I just couldn't believe it. I don't know why anyone would bother an old man," she said.
Nyssa Police wouldn't confirm if Robert was shot or stabbed, but an autopsy will be done in Portland.
