Four people died in three separate motorcycle crashes around southern Idaho Monday.

The first happened on State Highway 75 about 18 miles outside of Stanley.

According to Idaho State Police an ITD employee was doing routine maintenance along the roadway when he spotted two people and a motorcycle on the bank of the Salmon River.

Ronald Weber, age 63, and Sharon Weber, age 60, both of Boise, were riding a motorcycle northbound on State Highway 75 when, for unknown reasons, they drifted off the right shoulder and down the embankment 90 feet, police said. 

Both were pronounced dead on scene.  

Then just before 3 pm Monday an Oregon man died when he lost control of his motorcycle and veered off of Highway 55 north of Banks.

Richard Schroeder, age 63 of Halfway, OR, was ejected from his motorcycle, down a 30-foot embankment and into the Payette River.

Medics declared Schroeder dead on scene.

A third crash happened around 6 pm just east of the Idaho/Oregon border.

Eric Shink, age 40, of Kennewick, Washington was headed eastbound on I-84, when he took an off-ramp, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guard rail.

Shrink was thrown from his bike and died at the scene. Police believe Alcohol and excessive speed played a role in the crash.

Police say the riders were wearing helmets in all three crashes.
